Karen Sheridan received her B.F.A. at The Boston Museum
School of Fine Arts and Tuffs University. Her paintings focus on
dancing colors and contrast blending into a unique impressionistic
style. This signature approach has become highly sought after
in South Florida.
“I use landscapes and buildings as a vehicle to capture the splendid
colors only found in Florida,” said Sheridan. The fact that she paints
with oil and masonite is just one of the many factors that make her
paintings unique. the end result is a colorful, vibrant approach
that is totally fresh and striking. Locals and tourist alike delight
in recalling memories associated with the locations she has chosen;
from the seaports and docks to street musicians and old shotgun
conch houses, she is capturing the essence of Island living.
Sheridan arrived in Key West years ago, the beauty of the Keys
instantly took her and also compelled her to explore other like areas
of Florida. Now a resident of St. Augustine, she again finds herself
inspired by the surrounding landscapes and people of the historical
small town in north Florida.
